Disney favourite Sleeping Beauty is in the midst of celebrating 55 years since its film premiere, and what better way to relive the classic in a dark fantasy, created from the perspective of the films iconic baddie.  Angelina Jolie stars as Maleficent, a woman who sent shivers up the spines of many through our childhoods.

With the film hiring costume designers and production artists all holding a plethora of academy award, the cast rock some amazing costumes throughout the film, with Jolie’s headwear making many of us relive that fright we last felt back when we first watched Sleeping Beauty when we were children.

In a private preview at Kensington Palace, Jolie gave an early tour of “The World of Maleficent”, an exhibit of the amazing clothing and props, with all proceeds going to St Ormonds Street Hospital.

With her hair up to put focus on her tattooed back scripture, Angelina Jolie smashed it on the blue carpet, wearing a plain black custom Atelier Versace gown that clung to her elegantly, while partner Brad Pitt stuck to a colour-matching suit. Jolie loves her long-sleeved gowns, but it’s no surprise when they suit her like they do!

Co-star Elle Fanning decided to make a fairy tale moment and go for an enchanting princess style lemon dress, which made the 16 year old look as though she had just stepped straight out of the movie.

Maleficent opened to the public on May 2, and has already gathered some great reviews by viewers and critics alike, with Jolie’s performance being praised by many.

“The World of Maleficent” will open to the public on the Saturday 24 May and will end on the Saturday 14 June at the O2 and gives fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in the magic of Disney, and the magic of Maleficent.
